The System fails five children
Thursday August 31, 2006
A news story from the Cincinnati Post tells of child abuse as horrible in its own way as the abuse that killed Nixzmary Brown in New York City. Describing the abuse that occurred for over four years, the news story reads, "...requests for help from children's services organizations were 'routinely ineffective.'"
Clearly, this case demands an investigation similar to the one conducted when Nixzmary was murdered. Many of the same questions need to be asked.

Failures like the one in Cincinnati will continue as long as the hard Right is in control in this country. They do not care if children die if it means keeping the power to indoctrinate them into the culture of control. Moderates and leftists can be persuaded to pay for child protection that works, and I suspect that Goldwater libertarians could be too, but the hard Right ideologically opposes it. Sorry to be a downer. So if people want any shot at fixing this mess, they need to start electing somebody to local and national positions besides the ideological hard Right, NOW. Thanks for letting me post.
